This event is for U.S. Naval War College students, faculty and staff.The Strategy & Policy (S&P) course at the U.S. Naval War College (NWC) begins on November 12th, 2024 and concludes on February 26th, 2025. Please follow health and safety guidelines and refer to the orientation material for more guidance.
The Strategy & Policy department at NWC teaches the S&P course to senior-ranking U.S. and international military officers (O5-O6), along with nominated civilian applicants (GS14-GS15, or equivalent).
This course examines how to think strategically and to prepare for positions of strategic leadership, it also covers the relationship between war’s purpose, objective, and means. In addition, students will be asked to think in a disciplined, critical, and original manner about the international strategic environment, about a range of potential strategies, and about the strategic effects of joint, interagency, and multinational operations.

About the U.S. Naval War College
NWC features a one-year graduate-level program that annually graduates about 600 resident and 1,000 distance learning students. Graduating students earn Joint Professional Military Education credit and either a diploma or a master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies or Defense and Strategic Studies.
