Strategy and Ethics in Conversation
What ethical capacities are needed for strategic thought? What is the role of values (moral and non-moral) in strategy? Dr. Pauline Shanks Kaurin (Stockdale Chair in Professional Military Ethics, College of Leadership and Ethics) and Dr. Tim Schultz (Associate Dean of Academics) will bring the discourses of Strategy and Ethics into conversation with one another to clarify central concepts, explore tensions and commonalities, and examine current events and questions of interest related to Strategy and Ethics. We will explore the nature of strategy, the nature of ethics, and how they intersect. This will inform the NWC’s effort to inculcate ethics principles into the education of members of the profession of arms. Please join us in person for some engaging conversation!
