The Arctic – From a Norwegian Perspective
The challenges in the North may change, but the aim remains the same: Peace and stability. To keep it that way, we will continue to safeguard the legal framework and the regional cooperation between all Arctic states in the Arctic Council.
We will continue to strengthen our national defense and contribute to improve NATO’s collective defense. We will increase cooperation with our allies, through political consultation, education and training. For Norway, it’s important to keep open lines of communication about security developments in the Arctic with the United States, other allies, and our neighbors in the Arctic region.
