Synopsis

In this session, we will discuss some of the fraud statistics and highlights from the 2018 Report to the Nations from The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE); a comprehensive global report based on over 2,600 actual fraud cases from 125 countries. We will examine the power of social media in fraud and how we are all potential victims to business email compromise (BEC), bribery, and procurement fraud - especially with the Fat Leonard case. Insider threat is growing given the amount of data available to employees that should be monitored to prevent fraudulent acts. Having the the right security and controls will help organizations avoid some obvious mistakes and prevent fraud.
