About this lecture series

Lectures of Opportunity (LOOs) offer U.S. Naval War College (NWC) students, faculty, and staff an opportunity to learn more about national and international socio-political subjects that may be of relevance to the NWC community.

Synopsis

This is the first lecture in our Blue Economy Speaker Series - sponsored by the Ruger Chair. It will be hosted by the Oceanography and Maritime Security Group or OMSG, which was established at the NWC by Professor Kathleen Walsh.

The global blue economy continues to grow as the demands on the ocean continue to rise. In parallel, there are significant declining cost curves in Tech /Digitization, Cleantech and Materials. Further, innovation today is flatter and faster. What is bluetech and why now for bluetech venture innovation?
