Restoring the Initiative: A Discussion on the Assumptions andConcepts Shaping the Next Paradigm of Naval Warfare

In his planning guidance, CMC announced a shift in focus: the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) will shift focus to support the U.S. Navy in sea control and denial operations and become the Marine Corps the U.S. Navy needs. What does the U.S. Navy need? What demands will the next paradigm of naval warfare place on the Navy Marine Corps Team? How can the naval service offer better strategic options to future decision makers? What are the common assumptions of the naval service as it designs the future force? Col. Art Corbett USMC (Ret.) will offer some recommendations, and hopes to gain insights on future naval integration in the discussion.
