Lectures of Opportunity (LOOs) offer Naval War College (NWC) students, faculty, and staff an opportunity to learn more about national and international socio-political subjects that may be of relevance to the NWC community.

Synopsis

Every four years since 1999, the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) has conducted a detailed study of the potential trends and drivers that would characterize the future operational and warfighting defense in which the MOD would have to carry out its missions. Brigadier Murchison will provided an overview of the recently completed Global Strategic Trends, and discuss how it is being used as the first step for long-term planning within the UK Defence establishment.
