The Arctic region faces critical security challenges on issues of climate change, sealines of communication, energy, infrastructure, partnerships, and governance. Over the last ten weeks, students in the fall Arctic security elective learned about many of these challenges and how they could lead to friction, instability and conflict among great powers. Four students from the Arctic security elective will present the findings from their research papers, including key confidence building measures and capabilities to reduce the chances of miscalculation and conflict in the Arctic region.
