Seven panels convened over a two-day period to address Department of Defense Topics and Updates, Soft Power, security and protection studies, media and communication, international case studies and geographic Combatant Command issues.
Panel 1. Engagement opportunities for the US Navy, musculoskeletal operational and international consideration of women in the DOD, Medical policies and progress supporting women in the operational environment, women’s integration as military innovation.
Panel 2. Soft power solutions to hard security issues, training and education gaps in WPS, Communication of respect, Syrian women and formal peace processes.
Panel 3. Street level bureaucracy and female engagement teams, women in disarmament, nonproliferation and arms control, piracy and security issues in the Gulf of Aden.
Panel 4. Electronic Jihad, internet as a gender equalizing pathway, showing of Peace is Loud film, Women War and Peace.
Panel 5. Women and minorities in counterinsurgency strategy, Women’s coalition of Northern Ireland, Purdah and forced inclusion in early 1900’s Turkey.
