"Critical Themes and Perspectives in Global Security"

The seven panels convened over a two-day period to discuss Women Peace and Security and its ties to several arenas with special emphasis upon food security and religion. Highlighted was the geographic regions of Africa, the Asia Pacific and Syria. Of special interest to the defense community was two panels that feature United States and International Department of Defense programs and experiences from current and ongoing programs with military ties. 

For the second year in a row, a monograph of interesting papers was developed. Selected were macro discussions about equality, WPS lessons learned and challenges of implementing WPS components. Also, there were global community papers covering the Islamic state, India, Muslim nations and Nepal as well as several special topics papers on sports, health, disaster response and ethics. In addition, education and training, operational process discussions were included.
