On Dec. 16th, the U.S. Naval War College opened its doors to more than 750 staff, students, faculty and general public for Navy Band Northeast’s annual holiday concert held in Spruance auditorium. This year’s concert was a collaborative event featuring the Newport Navy Choristers, led by Ms. Lori McDowell.

The concert was a success and enabled the Newport community to participate in a way that they had not been able to in many years. The significant attendance from the local community conveyed an inspiring message of appreciation for the men and women serving in uniform.

Many new challenges arose ahead of the concert, and the way people came together to support the event was a model of cooperation and excellence. Time and again, Navy Music helps facilitate a meaningful connection between an all-volunteer force and the general public.
