Newport, R.I. - The U.S. Naval War College (NWC) hosted its fourth annual genocide studies conference Oct. 15 in the virtual environment. The conference gathered scholars for a panel discussion focused on genocidal ideologies, warning signs of genocide and genocide prevention.

NPS graduate retired Adm. Guillermo Barrera utilized his education in electrical and electronics engineering throughout his career in the Colombian Navy, culminating in his service has Chief of Naval Operations from 2006-2010.

The 24th International Seapower Symposium (ISS) concluded today at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. ISS brought together heads of navies, coast guards and other senior naval leaders from more than 100 nations to discuss cooperative strategies for maritime security.
