NWC professors speak at DIA symposium

Naval War College professors recently spoke at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) academic symposium “Africa: Rising or Regressing” May 14-18.

Professors David Burbach, Christopher Jasparro, and Naunihal Singh from the National Security Affairs Department along with scholars from other universities, think tanks and federal agencies provided remarks at the event.

Prof. Burbach spoke on the decline of conflict in Africa, Prof. Jasparro addressed environmental security threats in Africa, and Prof. Singh discussed the dynamics of military coups.

“This event highlighted the unique skills and expertise of NWC’s faculty,” Prof. Burbach noted, “Our experts are well-grounded in academic disciplines but also committed to being part of the broad discussion on our nation's policies and strategies."

This event was organized through DIA’s Middle East – Africa Regional Center and the Academy for Defense Intelligence, and brought the agency’s regional analysts together with prominent scholars and practitioners to discuss trends in African security.
